So I’ve been getting some great feedback from you guys regarding these lessons – thanks for your comments! A lot of you have been requesting advice on talking to girls on the phone.

As you know, talking to women on the phone is a key step to setting up the first “date.” So here are some great tips to help you get those girls from the phone, to your front door (or at least agree to meet with you…).

Some guys out there are just naturally articulate. If you’re one of those guys, thank your lucky stars because being articulate is really the name of the “Phone Game.”

The other part of Phone Game is confidence and portraying it accurately… Articulation and confidence do go hand-in-hand, however…

There are a few exercises that will help both your articulation and confidence… but here’s one of my favorites…

The Exercise

I want you to go and pull out a phone book right now… I strongly recommend you do this with a friend who is also interested in becoming more articulate and confident on the phone.

See where this is going? Good.

I want you to pull out five random phone numbers… now this is what I want you to do. I want you to call each one of them…

And I want you start a conversation and hold it for as long as possible… use small talk. Say to them that you’ve dialed the wrong number then immediately pose a non-threatening question. For each phone conversation, choose a topic beforehand…

A popular topic that I often use is movies. Say that you are going out for a movie with your girlfriend later that night and you want to know if they’ve seen any good chick flicks. You could also talk about shows on TV, music, sports, etc.

And if you don’t get an answer… call another random person. Don’t stop until you’ve called and talked to five random people.

Be funny, be yourself

Use some charm… and try and be funny. And don’t worry, remember this is just a random phone exercise – these people will probably never, ever know who you are. So let loose. Be yourself. Stay calm.

This is a huge part when talking to women… a lot of guys simply just freeze or don’t know what to say when they’re talking on the phone with an attractive woman. This exercise will help eliminate this anxiety.

A lot of you will still feel nervous when talking to these people, or feel a bit funny at the pit of your stomach. Don’t worry – that’s completely natural.

Even the most successful pickup artists get this feeling in their stomachs… the key difference is how they deal with this feeling…

And that’s the key to this exercise… just deal with that feeling and overcome it. The more you do it, the easier it is to deal with this weird “nervous” feeling…

Picture what the person you’re calling’s feeling if you present yourself in a funny and friendly way…
Do you honestly think they’ll hate you after that? Or have any contempt for you in any way? No. Unless you offend them of course… which you won’t.

Keep Practicing

Don’t let this exercise stop there. Start employing small-talk to random people that you see every day.

Trust me – as long as you are assumingly well-groomed and know how to speak in the correct manner, you will almost always get positive responses from people.

In the last lesson, we went over some key points to help you succeed with your instant-messaging game.  Today, I’m going to go over another important aspect of your online profile… your profile content.

I’m basically referring to those little boxes in your profile that lists your interests, hobbies, or anything about you.

Let me first tell you about one of my friends who just recently took up online dating…

I gave him some basic tips… nothing too extraordinary… and he started making a profile.  He messaged three good-looking girls and got three messages back.

The good thing is… at least he got replies.  I was shocked!  I thought he wasn’t even going to get that far.  The bad thing is… the girls didn’t seem all that terribly interested in him.  They didn’t ask him many questions in the replies…

Two girls definitely tried to reciprocate interest, and the other did not at all.

So he asked for my help.  I took a quick glance at his profile and shook my head.

“Dude, totally wrong.  Take this *#(& off right now!  There are three things wrong with this profile.  I’ll tell you one of them.” I said to him…

What to put in your online dating profile

I told him that he was giving away way too much information in his profile content – something that you should avoid too.

He was basically listing almost everything about him… everything that had to do with his job, how many tattoos he had, all the places he’s been in his life… he put down everything.

Let’s look at his profile from a female perspective.  First of all, she has so much crap to read that she doesn’t even care about!  The details, although they might be interesting, are not to be put on the profile content section.

Why?

It’s far too redundant to read in this context.  It may be appropriate for a phone conversation or real-life conversation, but on the internet… people want concise information.

The fact that he wrote about his tattoos wasn’t THAT bad… but he just went into disgusting detail… no one needed to know that he has a tattoo on his “upper back,” his “lower abdominal region,” and his “left pinky-toe.”  (Okay, I’m exaggerating a bit here, but you get the drift… just too much detail!)

People just simply don’t care about that type of detail at this point…

Not only that, but it simply just kills one of the most important aspects of picking up women…

MYSTERY!

Some men just ruin their chances by giving away way too much and not creating a sufficient level of mystery that keeps women interested.

You also eliminate the opportunity for small-talk by giving away too much small-talk information.  This is what my friend really did wrong here… he eliminated any amount of small talk that women just seem to love.

I’m talking about questions like…

So what do you do?  Have any tattoos?  So where have you travelled to?  What are you taking in school?  What kind of hobbies do you enjoy?

Well, if he addressed all of those issues, there isn’t much of a point in asking those questions, is there?

There is a certain way to tell your information in such a way that it doesn’t destroy the “allure”… the “enigma”… the “mystery.”
